Well the WSOP will soon be upon us, the pot of gold at the end of the Poker rainbow, the target for all serious pro-players and internet amateurs alike.
However I now sit on the horns of a dilemma. (This can be pretty painful at the best of times!)
I have qualified for a 40 (max) player game on Bodog, offered through Rounders Radio, which offers a $12,000 WSOP package to the winner.
However the radio station has announced that the winner has the option of accepting $10,000 in cash.
1... I already have holidays booked, which clash with the WSOP.
2... I have NEVER played a single game of ''live'' poker and don't fancy my first game being the WSOP...another year or two on my back and I'll be raring to have a go, but I just don't feel I'm anywhere near ready for this yet.
3... I don't even have a passport yet, so it would be a blind panic to get one in time.
4... I can do a hell of a lot more with the offered money than just have a week's holiday and could even use some of it to gain experience of ''live'' poker to aid the learning curve.
I only entered the original freeroll because it was a PL focus game...I never expected to end up in this position.
So anyway, I am playing for the money, not the seat, and I just hope nobody gets uppity about this as there are clearly a few more doing the same.
I just wanted to be up front about it that's all.
Good luck to everybody else taking part.
